Meine Meinung
„Forever 21“ ist ein Buch, was mich mit zwiegespaltener Meinung zurückgelassen hat… Ich wusste nie, ob ich es mir wirklich kaufen sollte, doch dann habe ich es bei Netgalley angefragt und auch bekommen, wofür ich mich nochmal herzlich bedanke.
Die Idee vom Zeitreisen fand ich sehr, sehr cool. Geschichten, wo in der Zeit herum gesprungen wird, fand ich schon immer sehr interessant und da lasse ich mich gerne hineinfallen. Hier ging es um Ava, die Amor spielt. Sie landet im Körper einer Person und hat keine Ahnung, wo und wer sie ist. In kurzer Zeit muss sie sich zurechtfinden und zwei Menschen zusammenbringen, was schnell gehen muss, denn je länger sie braucht, desto mehr Schmerzen hat sie. Eine schöne Idee, die aber besser hätte umgesetzt werden können. Ich hab so den ein oder anderen inhaltlichen Fehler gefunden und der „rote Faden“ hat ein wenig gefehlt.
Ava ist die Hauptprotagonistin und trotzdem bleibt sie sehr blass. Dadurch, dass sie im Körper anderer Personen ist, geht es meist um diese Menschen und weniger um Ava. Die ganzen Nebenprotagonisten, die in den kleinen Episoden vorkamen, fand ich alle aber sehr toll! Jede war spannend und es war auch sehr schön, mit Ava alles zu erkunden und mehr über die Person des neuen Körpers zu erfahren. Und von dem, was ich über Ava weiß, kann ich sagen, dass ich sie eigentlich sympathisch finde und ihre energische Art sehr mag. Manchmal kann das negativ sein aber meist fand ich es toll, dass Ava so viel Mut und Energie in sich hat.
Auch Kyran, der männliche Protagonist war mir sehr sympathisch und ich konnte mich gut in ihn hineinversetzen. Er war nicht ganz ohne Klischees eines Nerds aber seit wann ist das schlimm? Er ist doch sehr schüchtern aber unglaublich toll, spannend und hat andere Interessen und Hobbies, was ihn nur noch cooler macht. Ich mochte ihn sehr! Leider habe ich immer noch nicht ganz verstanden, was die beiden aneinander gefunden haben. Die Liebesgeschichte kam mir nicht ganz so realistisch rüber und anfangs habe ich die Chemie nicht gesehen aber mit der Zeit wurde mir das Paar definitiv sympathischer und ich konnte mich mehr mit ihnen anfreunden. Ob ich denn jetzt für oder gegen die beiden als Paar bin, weiß ich um ehrlich zu sein noch nicht aber ich habe ja noch einen Band um das herauszufinden…
Auch die Jahre, in denen Ava sich befand, waren sehr unterschiedlich. Manchmal war sie im Jahre 2016 und einmal auch im Jahr 1907, was beides gut dargestellt wurde und mir gefallen hat!
Ebenfalls sehr angenehm war der Schreibstil. Er lässt sich flüssig und vor allem auch schnell lesen, was wunderbar war. Schön jugendlich war er und hat toll zur Geschichte gepasst. Genauso wie die Spannung. Wie die kleinen Nebengeschichten ausgehen, war offensichtlich aber vieles hat mich im Gesamten sehr überrascht. Ohne es zu bemerken, habe ich oft mitgefiebert und gehofft, dass in bestimmten Situationen alles gut geht.
Was mich aber verwirrt zurückgelassen hat, war das Ende. Dass es einen 2. Band gibt, weiß ich jetzt auch aber ich hätte mir trotzdem ein wenig Aufklärung gewünscht. Ich bin praktisch immer noch so ahnungslos wie vorher und das ist echt schade. Das gesamte Buch über hat man nicht mehr Informationen erfahren als Ava wusste und ich dachte, dass es am Ende rauskommt aber da war nichts. Dafür hoffe ich, dass der 2. Band mehr Aufklärung bringt!
Fazit
„Forever 21“ war ein tolles Buch, was schnell und angenehm zu lesen war. Eine spannende Story mit vielen Nebengeschichten und tollen Protagonisten. Die Liebesgeschichte habe ich noch nicht ganz kapiert und ich bin gespannt, wie der 2. Band sein wird. Ich vergebe 3,5 von 5 Lesesternen.
