Das war – für Zeitzeugen – schon ein Raunen und Staunen als 1999 auf 20.000 Quadratmetern der Designpalast – das stilwerk Berlin in der Kantstrasse eröffnete. In der City West in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Kurfürstendamm sollte hier der perfekte „Ort für Liebhaber guter Gestaltung“ entstehen. Ein Ort an dem alles zusammenkommen sollte, was Designname hatte. Und so wurde es dann auch: Heute sind 55 Stores vertreten und präsentieren eine ganzheitliche Welt des Interieur-Design – von der Küche bis zum Arbeitszimmer, vom exklusiven Einzelstück bis zum Klassiker oder der Avantgarde.

Ein bisschen History:

Deutschlandweit ist das stilwerk in Berlin, Düsseldorf und Hamburg vertreten. Alle zusammen präsentieren über 800 Premium-Marken – und das seit über 20 Jahren für rund 1,8 Millionen Besucher im Jahr! Wechselnde Pop-up Stores ergänzen. Einrichtung, Planung und Beratung sind unter einem Dach möglich. Das war das Credo seit der ersten Stunde, als der Hamburger Unternehmer Bernhard Garbe den ersten Storeraum 1996 in Hamburg eröffnete – ein Startschuss für die Umsetzung eines visionären Konzeptes. 1999 eröffnete stilwerk Berlin und 2000 folgte stilwerk Düsseldorf. 2021 folgt eine Destination in Rotterdam und mit den Projekten in Hamburg und Travemünde gesellen sich drei Hotels hinzu, mit denen stilwerk zwei Welten – Retail und Hospitality – unter einem Dach vereint. International galt das Konzept als einmalig. Das eigene Magazin, spannende Ausstellungen sowie kulturelle Events runden das Konzept ab und machen stilwerk zum inspirierenden Ort für Designliebhaber.

Ein Aha-Moment ist für viele Berlin-Storebesucher bis heute die Transparenz der stilwerk-typischen, gläsernen „Tempel-Architektur“. Mit seiner verglasten, „nasenförmigen Ausprägung“ ist es bereits aus der Ferne als architektonischer Fixpunkt zu erkennen gibt. Verantwortlich für den Bau zeichnen sich Studio & Partners aus Mailand sowie Novotny Mähner & Assoziierte.

Seit 2011 findet das gleichnamige Festival jedes Jahr statt, das – von stilwerk initiiert – heute zum Herbst-Highlight in der City West zählt. Einmal im Jahr inszeniert außerdem das stilwerk Magazin das Beste aus Design, Interior, Kultur, Leben und Architektur. Es zeigt die Menschen hinter den Ideen. Es ist mutig, innovativ, überraschend und widmet sich in jeder Ausgabe einem Thema, darunter Mut, Zeit, Neues, Haltung und Wunder. Die aktuelle Ausgabe „Living intensified“ (02/2019) ist an den stilwerk Standorten Berlin, Düsseldorf und Hamburg sowie im guten Zeitschriftenhandel erhältlich.

Und was ist neu? stilwerk goes hospitality

Ab 2019 erweitert stilwerk sein Konzept um den Bereich Hospitality. Das Ziel: Den hohen Designanspruch vom Showroom in reale Wohnsituationen – sei es Hotel oder Apartments – zu übertragen. Im „temporären Zuhause“ macht stilwerk Design so wirklich erlebbar und kreiert ein inspirierendes Erlebnis, das man gern mit nach Hause nimmt. Drei Hospitality Projekte in Hamburg und Travemünde sowie eine neue Destination in Rotterdam, die das Kernkonzept mit Serviced Apartments, Co-Working, Gastronomie und einer Markthalle verbindet, bilden den Startschuss.

Am 2.11.2019 findet die Jubiläumsgala statt!
