Bereits zum achten Mal wurde in diesem Jahr in den Kategorien Einzelhandel, Abfallvermeidung / Reduce, Reuse und Recycle, Smart Cities Lösungen für ganz Berlin der Green Buddy Award verliehen.
Organisiert wird der Award im Bezirk Tempelhof-Schöneberg unter der Schirmherrschaft der Bezirksbürgermeisterin Angelika Schöttler. So gibt es für den Bezirk selbst auch einen Green Buddy für Umweltschonende Produktion und den Young Green Buddy.
Über dem grünen Bären schwebte auch in diesem Jahr der Parameter „Ökologie und Nachhaltigkeit“ als Teil der eigenen Firmenphilosophie. Ausgezeichnet werden zudem auch engagierte Projektgruppen und Private, die sich durch beispielhafte Initiative um eine nachhaltige Entwicklung verdient gemacht haben. Jede Kategorie wurde mit einem individuellen Buddy Bären, einem Preisgeld von 2.000,- Euro sowie einer Urkunde ausgezeichnet. Bezirksbürgermeisterin Angelika Schöttler dazu: „Es ist ein toller Preis. Jedes Jahr bin ich aufs Neue begeistert, was für großartige Unternehmen in Berlin und in Tempelhof-Schöneberg arbeiten. Immer mehr Unternehmen setzen auf betrieblichen Umweltschutz und sind so Vorbilder für die Wirtschaft und Bürger_innen. Genau sie wollen wir mit dem Umweltpreis auszeichnen. Mit Hilfe des Green Buddy Awards sollen ihre Ideen und innovativen Ansätze in der Wirtschaft bekannt werden und zur Nachahmung anregen.“
