Das Letzte, was Sydney will, als sie bei dem attraktiven Gitarristen Ridge einzieht, ist, sich in ihn zu verlieben. Zu frisch ist die Wunde, die ihr Ex hinterlassen hat. Und auch Ridge hat gute Gründe, seine neue Mitbewohnerin nicht zu nah an sich ranzulassen, denn er hat seit Jahren eine feste Freundin: Maggie – hübsch, sympathisch, klug, witzig. Und dann passiert es doch. Als Sydney beginnt, Ridge beim Songschreiben zu helfen, kommen sie sich näher als erwartet. Auch wenn beide die Stopptaste drücken, bevor wirklich etwas passiert, können sie nichts gegen die immer intensivere Anziehung ausrichten, die sie zu unterdrücken versuchen – vergeblich.

Meine Meinung
In „Maybe Someday“ geht es also um Sydney, die gerade herausgefunden hat, dass ihr Freund sie mit ihrer besten Freundin betrogen hat und um Ridge, der eine Freundin hat und ein Haus weiter wohnt. Ein Jugendbuch mit viel Liebe, Drama und Problemen, wie man es in Hoovers Büchern eigentlich schon gewöhnt ist.

Das Buch habe ich zum Osterwichteln auf Lovelybooks bekommen. Als ich früher die Bücher von Coollen Hoover in einer Buchhandlung gesehen habe, habe ich immer einen großen Bogen drum herum gemacht. Trotzdem habe ich ab und zu ein Buch von ihr gelesen, die ich immer mittelmäßig bis gut fand. Irgendwie bin ich einfach kein richtiger Fan von ihr und ihren Geschichten. Da war ich natürlich sehr gespannt, ob mich dieses hier überzeugen würde…

Die Idee fand ich jetzt nicht sehr prickelnd und der Klappentext klang für mich auch nicht spannend. Ich dachte einfach, dass wäre schon wieder ein typisches Buch dieser Autorin, wo es nur um Drama in einer Liebesbeziehung geht. Jetzt muss ich aber sagen, dass ich sehr überrascht war, dass es viel mehr war, als erwartet. Die Grundidee ist „einfach“ und typisch, aber sie wurde so gut ausgebaut und man hat viel mehr draus gemacht und es passierten Dinge, die mich sehr überraschten.

Und das Cover? Naja, eher nicht mein Ding. Ich glaube die Cover haben mich früher auch schon abgeschreckt und das war auch ein Faktor, weswegen ich mit dem Hype nicht mitgehen konnte. Rosa. Pink. Überall. Schön, wenn andere es mögen, ich aber leider eher weniger.

Mit manchen Protagonisten hatte ich so meine „Hassliebe“-Momente. Sydney gehörte definitiv dazu. Sie hat gerade herausgefunden, dass ihr Freund oder eher Ex-Freund Hunter sie betrügt und wird von ihrem Nachbarn Ridge aufgenommen. Er und sein Freund suchen eh eine neue Mitbewohnerin, da passt das ja ganz gut.

Sydney ist nett, mutig und liebt die Musik. In den meisten Situationen war sie mir sympathisch, denn man kann sich wirklich gut mit ihr identifizieren. Eigentlich ist sie ziemlich taff und cool und Musik ist ihre Leidenschaft. Doch es ist auch Ridges Leidenschaft und so entsteht eine Verbindung zwischen denen, die ich gar nicht mochte. Ridge hat nämlich seit vielen Jahren eine Freundin, verständlich! Er ist ein charmanter, lustiger Junge, mit dem man gerne seine Zeit verbringt. Jeden Tag spielt er auf dem Balkon einige Lieder auf seiner Gitarre und ist in solchen Momenten vollkommen in seinem Element. Ich mochte ihn unglaublich gerne!

Es hat mich aber sehr gestört, dass zwischen Sydney und Ridge eine größere Verbindung als nur Freundschaft entstand und sie sich näher kamen. Es war ja klar, dass es passiert aber es hat mich genervt. Denn Sydney hat gerade ihren Freund verlassen, der sie mit ihrer besten Freundin betrogen hat. Sydney hasst sie jetzt beide, ist sowas von sauer und will keinen von beiden je wiedersehen. Da verstehe ich überhaupt nicht, wie sie Ridges Freundin das antun konnte! Überhaupt schon, dass sie sich näher gekommen sind, war schon zu viel. Und sie wussten es beide. Trotzdem ist Sydney nicht ausgezogen und Ridge hat sie dort wohnen lassen. Richtig fetter Minuspunkt!

Dadurch konnte ich mich auch nicht richtig auf deren Beziehung einlassen, denn der Faktor oben hat mich enorm gestört. Sonst hätte ich sie wahrscheinlich geliebt.

Als ich so auf Seite 50 war, hat man außerdem erfahren, dass Ridge taub ist. Er kommuniziert entweder über Gebärdensprache oder muss mit den Menschen schreiben. Als ich das erfahren habe, war ich erstmal ziemlich baff. Er spielt ja Gitarre, liebt die Musik und ich habe mich gefragt, warum man das denn nicht in den Klappentext geschrieben hat. Dann hat Ridge mir aber schon die Antwort gegeben, als Sydney ihn gefragt hat, warum er ihr denn nicht gesagt hätte, dass er taub ist. Darauf antwortete er nämlich: „Warum hast du mir nicht gesagt, dass du hören kannst?“ (Seite 64)

Mit dem Schreibstil kam ich gut klar. Er war flüssig zu lesen und man hatte keine Probleme. Die Geschichte wurde ab der Hälfte sehr spannend und mit viel Drama beladen. Da musste ich einfach weiterlesen!

Fazit
Eine schöne Geschichte mit einer guten Handlung. Es gab Punkte, die mich sehr überrascht haben und die ich von Colleen Hoover nicht erwartet habe. Die Protagonisten waren zwar toll aber mich hat der Punkt mit dem Betrügen sehr gestört. Ich vergebe 4 von 5 Lesesternen.
