Am kommenden Sonntag, den 2. Juni 2019, laden die Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin Kinder, Jugendliche und Familien ein, im Rahmen eines Aktionstages die Museumsinsel Berlin und ihre Sammlungen zu erkunden. Die Teilnahme an den Angeboten ist kostenfrei. Kinder und Jugendliche bis zum vollendeten 18. Lebensjahr erhalten freien Eintritt in die beteiligten Museen und dürfen bis zu zwei erwachsene Begleitungen kostenfrei mitnehmen. Ausgenommen vom Aktionstag ist „Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama“.

Das vielfältige Programm des Aktionstages ist dem Thema Porträt gewidmet. In offenen Workshops gestalten die Teilnehmer*innen Porträts. Es wird gezeichnet, gedruckt und collagiert. Inspiration geben die Werke der Sammlungen, zu denen halbstündlich startende Ausstellungsgespräche führen. Ein Museums-Twister, künstlerische Interventionen sowie Snacks und Getränke vervollständigen das Programm. Der Kolonnadenhof ist Zentrum des großen Familienfestes.
