Das Spielfest des Jugendamtes Tempelhof-Schöneberg hat im Laufe seiner 26 Jahre einige Hochs und Tiefs erlebt, was nicht nur auf das Wetter bezogen gemeint ist. War das Angebot an Spiel- und Mitmachmöglichkeiten für Kinder und Jugendliche am Anfang sehr groß, so nahmen diese im Laufe der ersten zehn Jahre des neuen Jahrtausends ziemlich ab. 2011 tauchte dann ein junger Mann auf, der von Marketing und Veranstaltungen eine Menge verstand und dem Jugendamt half, das Spielfest zu neuem Schwung zu verhelfen. Und als 2012 dann das erste neue Spielfest stattfand, schrieb ein Journalist, dass Philipp Mengel das Spielfest wach geküsst habe. Im selben Jahr gründete Mengel gemeinsam mit Gleichgesinnten den Förderverein MitSpielen e.V., dessen Name künftig Programm sein sollte. Zwischen 2012 und 2016 hat sich die Besucherzahl von rund 2.000 auf über 4.000 mehr als verdoppelt. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jugendamt organisiert der Verein in diesem Jahr bereits zum sechsten Male das neue Spielfest.

150 Ehrenamtliche aus 30 Kinder- und Jugendeinrichtungen, Sportvereinen und anderen freien Trägern bieten auf der Südhälfte des Fußballstadions im Volkspark Mariendorf abwechslungsreiche Mitspielmöglichkeiten an.
In diesem Jahr sind mit dabei: das Deutsche Kinderhilfswerk, die DLRG Schöneberg mit einem Parktriathlon und Rettungsball-Zielwurf, der F.C. Stern Marienfelde mit Fußballkicker, der Förderverein Kita VGH mit Kinderschminken und Puppentheater, der Förderverein der Schätzelberg-Schule mit Würfelspiel und Schätze sieben, der Hort der Rudolf-Hildebrand-Schule mit Sandbildern und Tattoos, beim Imkerverein Lichtenrade kann man ein Bienenvolk beobachten, das Jugendamt ist mit einem Kletterturm auf dem Platz, die Jugendberufsagentur bietet ein Berufsquizz an, Check Up ist mit dem Job Mobil dabei, das Kinder- und Jugendhaus Mariendorf und das Jugendfreizeithaus Bungalow bieten Crazy Golf, Jackolo und Leitergolf, beim Kinderladen Marienkäfer können sich die Kinder schminken lassen, bei der Kindertagespflege Kolibri gibt es Waffeln und Popcorn, die Kita Tiponi hält Bastelangebote bereit, Kobukai, der Kendoverein der FU, präsentiert seine Sportart, beim MedienPoint Tempelhof können Bücher und andere Medien kostenlos mitgenommen werden, die legendäre Sportschule Lothar Nest ist mit Judo-Vorführungen dabei, die Streetbunnycrew bietet die Klassiker Dosen-, Deckel- u. Hufeisenwerfen und Eierlaufen an, bei der Suppenküche Lichtenrade stehen Window-Color, Kartoffeldruck und T-Shirts bemalen auf dem Programm, Michael Grass zeigt, wie man mit einer Armbrust umgehen und sich im Säckchenzielwerfen üben kann, SV Adler Berlin veranstaltet einige Handballturniere, die Teakwondo Füchse Berlin machen einen Kick-Contest, und auch der TSV Marienfelde lädt zu Mitmachaktionen ein.
Darüber hinaus wird es vor den großen Attraktionen wieder lange Schlangen geben, bei der Riesenrutsche, der Hüpfburg, bei den Aquabällen und dem Bungeehüpfen. Dank der Unterstützung von Bezirksbürgermeisterin Angelika Schöttler können diese aufregenden Attraktionen wieder zu einem Superpreis angeboten werden, alle vier Spiele für nur 5 Euro.

Die Ausstattung des Spielfestes kostet darüber hinaus viel Geld. Und so freuen sich die Verantwortlichen, dass es in diesem Jahr zwei neue Großsponsoren gibt, die das Spielfest unterstützen, nämlich Möbel Höffner und STADT UND LAND. Beide Sponsoren sind auch vor Ort mit Angeboten vertreten. Möbel Höffner mit seinem Glücksrad und STADT UND LAND mit Spielangeboten. Bezirksbürgermeisterin Angelika Schöttler, der Spielfest-Veranstalter, Jugendstadtrat Oliver Schworck, und Spielfestleiter Philipp Mengel luden die Chefs von Möbel Höffner, Gordon Jakobitz, und STADT UND LAND, Ingo Malter, zu einem Begrüßungstreffen ins Rathaus Schöneberg ein, um sich für die neue Partnerschaft und Unterstützung zu bedanken.
Die bisherigen Sponsoren, die Stromnetz Berlin GmbH, das Druckcenter Berlin und die Designwerkstatt stilbrand sind dem Spielfest auch in diesem Jahr treu geblieben.
Und da am Samstag und Sonntag das Spielfest zwischen 16 und 18 Uhr parallel zum Rocktreff läuft, sorgt Amplifon wieder für den entsprechenden Gehörschutz für Kinder.
Das Spielfest findet am Samstag, dem 8., und Sonntag, dem 9. Juli 2017, jeweils von 12 bis 18 Uhr bei freiem Eintritt im Fußballstadion des Volksparks Mariendorf, Eingang über Prühßstraße 90 / Ecke Andlauer Weg, statt. Das Stadion ist auch über einen Spaziergang durch den Volkspark vom Mariendorfer Damm aus zu erreichen.
