Die Berlin Photo Week feiert zum zweiten Mal vom 10. bis 13. Oktober „die Liebe zu Fotografie, Kunst und Technologie“ mit Veranstaltungen im Kraftwerk und ausgewählten Orten in der ganzen Stadt.
Photo-Gleichgesinnte werden über ein Potpourri an Vorträgen der Branchenführer, Portfolio-Reviews, Photowalks oder Masterclasses ein paar Tage lang voll ins Photo-Lover-Herz getroffen werden!
Von den Meistern lernen
Im Hauptaustragungsort und der Berlin Photo Week – Ausstellung im Kraftwerk Berlin in der Köpenicker Str.70 werden ausgewählte Fotografien angesagter Künstler wie Thomas Hoepker, Evelyn Bencicova, Du Yang, Thomas Kretschmann, Olaf Heine, Justine Läufer oder auch Sven Marquardt aus der Sammlung Neumann-Hug ausgestellt. Im Funplace kann alles, was Big Player wie Canon, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus an neuer Technik zu bieten haben getestet werden.
Die Berlin Photo Week ist noch relativ jung und värrry international. So steht auf der Website alles very cool nur auf English. Gegründet wurde sie 2018 von Fotospezialist Benjamin Jäger und EyeEm – einer kostenlose App die Nutzern die Möglichkeit bietet, Fotos zu bearbeiten und diese mit der Fotocommunity und sozialen Netzwerken zu teilen.
Nach dem „Mois de la Photo“, der immer im November stattfand oder dem European Month of Photography (EMOP), welches die bekannten Foto-Event-Vorgänger waren, hat die Berlin Photo Week das Ziel ein neues und besonders kreatives (naja, das will ja jeder…) Fotofestival für Berlin ins Leben zu rufen. Alte Hasen haben hier ihre Plattform, junge Talente sind ready entdeckt zu werden und es gibt genug Möglichkeiten sich analog und face to face mit der Community zu vernetzen, um seinen ganz persönlichen Big Fun of doing some good pics gemeinsam auszuleben. Für Ungeübte ist es natürlich spannend sich mit den professionellen Machern über die Geschichten hinter den Bildern auszutauschen. Das Event möchte Impulse setzen und neue Perspektiven eröffnen.
Ein Highlight ist die jährliche Verleihung der EyeEm Awards: alle Foto-Fans, die dabei sind bekommen die Chance die Gewinner des weltweit größten Fotowettbewerbs live zu erleben und vielleicht zukünftig selbst in ihre Fußstapfen zu treten.
Parallel finden in der Stadt weitere spannende Ausstellungen statt wie z.B. in der HELMUT NEWTON STIFTUNG, C/O Berlin, im Hotel Mond Fine Arts, im f3, dem Willy Brand Haus oder dem BBA und viele andere.
