Am Ort des Geschehens: Wie in einem Song von Ideal geht es am Mehringdamm zu: Aus dem U-Bahn-Schacht quillen die Hipster Touris. Die Straße brummt. Es herrscht ein ununterbrochenes Getümmel. Da muss man schon zweimal hinschauen, um den neuen, winzig wirkenden koreanischen Grill-Imbiss an der Hausnummer Nr.38 der Fressmeile zu entdecken. „Fresh meat in town“- Schilder umsäumen in Neonfarben den Ausgabetresen. Dahinter grillen, marinieren und schnippeln flinke Hände – eine lebendige Truppe sorgt für ein schnelles Abwickeln am Tresen. Der Zubereitungsraum ist grösser, als er von aussen scheint. Die Auswahl ist übersichtlich. Nachhaltige gedacht sind alle Mitnehm-Boxen aus Papier. Der Gogi Boss – ein skizziertes Maskottchen hat allen Grund als Logo über dem Grill-Imbiss-Express zu grinsen.

Man wählt zwischen 3 Sets, einem Gogi-. Vegi- und Korean Fried Chicken-Set mit Wahl-Beilage (Salat, Kimchi oder Süßkartoffel-Fritten) und einem Getränk (Alles ist aber auch einzeln mit Reis und Salat zu bestellen). Typisch koreanisch ist das klassisch marinierte Bulgogi Beef mit geröstetem Sesam. Das einzig Fischige ist der Spicy Squid. Sieht knatschig aus. Das Huhn ist am variantenreichsten. Es wird in der Variante „scharf“ oder leicht karamellisiert „mit Soy“ (Soja) angeboten. Die koreanische Frittier-Version scheint jetzt schon der Kassenschlager zu sein. Das Huhn wird zweimal verarbeitet und nach dem Frittieren mariniert. Box Nr.2 ist ein veganes Miso Tofu Set. Für den Durst gibt es von alles von Standard bis koreanische Getränke wie das Hite Beer oder das Nationalgetränk Soju – ein milder Reisschnaps, der zu wechselnden Drinks und fruchtigen Homemade-Limos vermixt wird. Coco Palm mit Traubengeschmack ist ein vielversprechender Softdrink. Wer nicht stehen will, denn bei Gogi gibt’s (noch?) nicht mal Stehtische, der klemme sich bei dem herrlichen Wetter seine Gogi Box untern Arm und setze sich in den Viktoriapark.
