ITB Berlin – Gewinnspiel

Die ITB Berlin startet mit hervorragenden Aussichten in die heiße Vorbereitungsphase ihrer 53. Auflage vom 6. bis 10. März 2019. Auf dem größten Marktplatz der internationalen Reiseindustrie präsentieren sich in 26 Hallen unter dem Berliner Funkturm rund 10.000 ausstellende Organisationen und Unternehmen aus mehr als 180 Ländern. Beeindrucken wird das diesjährige Partnerland Malaysia, das den Eröffnungsabend der ITB Berlin 2019 mit einem Feuerwerk an landestypischen Darbietungen gestalten wird. Während der Messetage können sich Fachbesucher und das Privatpublikum in Halle 26 über die vielfältigen Angebote des südostasiatischen Landes informieren. Auf der um rund 100 Quadratmeter vergrößerten Ausstellungsfläche hat sich die Zahl der Mitaussteller im Vergleich zum Vorjahr mehr als verdoppelt.

„Der hervorragende Buchungsstand der ITB Berlin zeigt einmal mehr, dass die internationale Reiseindustrie gerade in Zeiten, die von geopolitischen Krisen, Klimaveränderung und Overtourism gekennzeichnet sind, auf eine starke Präsenz und den persönlichen Austausch auf der größten Reisemesse der Welt setzt“, kommentiert David Ruetz, Head of ITB Berlin. „Neben langjährigen Ausstellern konnten wir dieses Jahr eine ganze Reihe neuer Unternehmen gewinnen. Um der Nachfrage gerecht zu werden, haben wir zusätzliche Standflächen geschaffen. Durch den Umzug des ITB Berlin Kongresses in die multifunktionale Kongress- und Messearena CityCube Berlin (CCB) haben wir dem anhaltend wachsenden Trend-Segment Travel Technology zwanzig Prozent mehr Fläche und ein exklusives Areal eingeräumt. Alle sechs Travel Technology-Hallen waren bereits im Dezember komplett ausgebucht.“

Asien, Indien und die arabischen Länder drängen weiter in den Markt

Als aufstrebende Destinationen auf der touristischen Landkarte sind Indien, Asien und die arabischen Länder wieder sehr stark vertreten. Auch die Vielzahl neuer Aussteller zeigt die enorme Dynamik der Märkte. Neu in Halle 26 sind unter anderem der asiatische Anbieter von exklusiven 5-Sterne-Hotels und Retreats Karma Group sowie das weltweit agierende japanische Reiseunternehmen Global DMC Network by JTB Group. Das Wachstum der arabischen Staaten auf dem touristischen Weltmarkt spiegelt sich in Halle 2.2 wider. Erstmals auf der ITB Berlin ist die saudi-arabische General Investment Authority vertreten. Dubai vergrößert seine Präsenz. Highlight ist die Expo 2020 Dubai mit einem eigenen Stand. Auch Oman, das Partnerland der ITB Berlin 2020, baut seinen Auftritt aus und unterstreicht damit die wachsende Wirtschaftskraft des Tourismus im Sultanat. Ebenso präsentiert sich Fujairah, das jüngste der sieben Emirate, mit einer größeren Standfläche als aufstrebender Tourismusstandort.

Schon frühzeitig war die Indien-Halle 5.2b komplett ausgebucht. Einige Aussteller haben ihre Standflächen vergrößert, darunter die Bundesstaaten Karnataka und Tamil Nadu. Ebenso hat eine ganze Reihe neuer aufstrebender Unternehmen ihr Kommen angekündigt, darunter Kesari Tours, Trans Indus Destination Management und Visit Incredible India Tours sowie das Luxus-Wellnessresort Atmantan und das Uday Samuadra Ayurveda & Yoga Resort. TourEast, eine Initiative, die nachhaltige Kulturtourismusziele im ländlichen Bengalen und Goa fördert, wird erstmals im Sustainable Travel Pavillion in Halle 5.2b ihre Projekte vorstellen.

Australien, Afrika und Südamerika signalisieren beständiges Wachstum

Mit mehr Ausstellungsfläche in Halle 5.2a demonstriert Australien sein touristisches Wachstumspotenzial. Auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent machen Ägypten (Halle 4.2) mit dem Schwerpunkt GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum) und Namibia (Halle 20) mit größeren Ständen auf sich aufmerksam. Wichtig zu wissen für Besucher der Afrika-Halle 20 ist, dass Swasiland mit neuem Namen auftritt: The Kingdom of Eswatini. Die südamerikanischen Länder knüpfen an ihre Präsenz des Vorjahres an – alle Aussteller haben wieder zugesagt. Hinzu kommen eine Vielzahl neuer Aussteller aus der Karibik, wie Curacao, Barbados, Belize und El Salvador. Außerdem feiert Grenada ein Comeback. Die karibische Insel war bereits 2015 als Aussteller auf der ITB Berlin. Peru und Ecuador haben ihre Auftritte leicht ausgebaut und Venezuela sogar die Standfläche verdoppelt. Was die USA angeht, bleibt seitens der Ausstellerzahlen, der sogenannte „Trump-Effekt“ aus– die Buchungen sind auf dem gleichen Niveau wie im Vorjahr.

Europa: Neue Aussteller, etliche Wiederkehrer und drei Jubiläen

Eine ganze Reihe neuer Aussteller sowie vergrößerte Standflächen bescheren den Europa-Hallen eine stabile Buchungslage. Newcomer sind unter anderem Napoleons Exilinsel St. Helena, die EU-Initiative European Capitals of Smart Tourism sowie Turismo de Setúbal und Mystic Cruises aus Portugal. Eindrucksvoll zeigt sich Portugals boomende Tourismuswirtschaft in Halle 1.1. Auf einer um knapp zehn Prozent gewachsenen Nettofläche stellen über 100 Aussteller, die vorwiegend unter dem Dach von Turismo de Portugal zu finden sind, ihre Angebote vor. Ebenso haben Luxemburg und die Balearen, mit der für den deutschen Markt wichtigen Urlaubsinsel Mallorca, ihre Standflächen ausgebaut. Mit einer Ausstellungsfläche von über 500 Quadratmetern ist auch die russische Beteiligung in Halle 3.1 so stark wie nie zuvor. Grund zum Feiern haben Norwegen (Halle 18), Bulgarien (Halle 15), Slowakei (7.2b) und die Schweiz (Halle 17) – alle vier Destinationen feiern dieses Jahr ihr 50. Jubiläum als Aussteller auf der ITB Berlin.

Neue Veranstalter und neue Hotels

Premiere feiern eine beachtliche Anzahl wichtiger Reiseveranstalter. Dazu zählen Alltours, die Reise-Website Urlaubsguru, der Schweizer Luxuskreuzfahrten-Anbieter Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, der Antarktisspezialist Albatros Exhibition, das Online-Portal Kurzurlaub.de und der Software-Entwickler Durak und Reinhardt GmbH. Booking.com hat mit zwei Ständen in Halle 9 seinen Auftritt erheblich vergrößert. Die indische Luxushotelgruppe Roseate Hotels & Resorts zieht als Hauptaussteller von der Halle 5.2 in die Halle 9. Als neuer Aussteller im Hotel-Segment hat sich die führende asiatische Luxushotelgruppe Shangri-La mit drei Häusern angekündigt. Als der Hotspot für Einkäufer und Hoteliers im Luxus-Segment hat sich die Loop@ITB in Halle 9 etabliert.

Internationale Nachfrage im Segment LGBT, Medical Tourism sowie bei Kultur- und Youth- and Adventure Travel

Das größte internationale Angebot an Urlaubsmöglichkeiten im Segment LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender +) weltweit auf einer Messe finden Besucher im schwul-lesbischen Travel Pavillon der ITB Berlin – und der Bereich wächst weiter. Neue Aussteller sind zum Beispiel Friendly Piemonte aus Italien, die Malta Tourism Authority, Gastgeberin des ersten LGBT+ Tourismus-Gipfels 2018, das japanische Keihan Hotel und The Thrive Summit by Connect Travel und New York City, die World Pride Destination 2019. Erstmals gibt es auch eine LGBT+ Media Lounge, gehostet von der ITB Berlin, TomOnTour und Pink Banana aus den USA. Außerdem finden neben Präsentationen auf der eigenen Bühne des Pavillons zum ersten Mal Panel-Diskussionen statt.

Eine Zunahme internationaler Unternehmen verbucht ebenfalls der Bereich Medical Tourism. Premiere feiern in Halle 21.b neue Aussteller, wie Viaggiare Sorridere aus Albanien, A-A Stomatologica aus Rumänien sowie Cluster Dalmatia-Health aus Kroatien, der indische medizinische Ayurveda Anbieter CGH Earth und Dormio-Med Dorota Kowalczyk sowie der Online Anbieter MKT Plus aus Polen. Ebenfalls neu dabei ist die European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA). Der Europäische Heilbäderverband ESPA und die HTI (Health Tourism Industry Conference), Medical Partner der ITB Berlin, sind neben anderen Wiederkehrern, weiterhin mit von der Partie. Zusätzlich ist HTI zum wiederholten Male Ausrichter der ITB Medical Night.

Aussteller aus aller Welt präsentieren in Halle 4.1 ihre Produkte und Innovationen für Jugend- und Abenteuerreisensowie verantwortungsbewussten Tourismus. In dem mit 40 Ausstellern sehr gut gebuchten Youth Travel Center sind erstmals Italien mit der Toskana sowie der neu gegründete Bundesverband für Schulfahrten anwesend. Eine Zunahme von Ausstellern verzeichnet ebenso der Bereich Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism. Neu ist der Gemeinschaftsstand neun madagassischer Tourismusorganisationen „Madagaskar: Responsible Travel and Authentic Experiences“, die kroatischen Nationalparks Plitvice Lakes National Park und Park Krka, der Delius Klasing Verlag, WWF Deutschland und WWF Borneo sowie Brot für die Welt /Tourism Watch.

Seit nunmehr vier Jahren füllt das Segment Kulturtourismus auf der ITB Berlin eine eigene Halle. In der Culture Lounge(Halle 16) präsentieren rund 70 Aussteller aus zwölf Ländern, darunter Museen aus ganz Europa, Festivals, große europäische Verbundprojekte und Kulturdienstleister ihre kulturellen Highlights und Angebote. Offizieller Kulturpartner ist Visit Flanders. Zusätzliche Kulturaussteller wie museum.de und muesion finden sich in Halle 10.2.

Großes Wachstumspotenzial: Travel Technology und neues Segment TTA

Die eTravel World ist komplett ausgebucht. Gleichzeitig wird das Ausstellerportfolio immer internationaler. Um dem rasant wachsenden Segment den nötigen Platz einzuräumen, wurde die eTravel World durch den Umzug des ITB Berlin Kongresses um zwanzig Prozent vergrößert. Neben den angestammten Travel Technology-Hallen 5.1, 8.1 und 10.1 findet erstmals die eTravel World in drei zusammenhängenden Hallen (6.1, 7.b und 7.1c) statt. Mit über einem Dutzend Neuausstellern, darunter BookingSuite, Travelor, Loopon, Ratehawk, Atomize und Gastromatic zeichnet sich vor allem im Hospitality Tech-Bereich ein starkes Wachstum ab. Die zunehmende Relevanz von Travel Technology wird auch durch den Anstieg von Zahlungssystemanbietern deutlich. Neben den großen Playern Wirecard und Concardis sind neue namhafte, marktbestimmende Unternehmen wie Paypal, Six Payment Services und ECOMMPAY dabei.

Eine thematische Brücke zwischen Travel Technology und Abenteuerreisen schlägt das neue Segment Technology, Tours & Activities (TTA). In Halle 4.1b wurde ein 500 Quadratmeter großer Ausstellungs- und Meetingbereich eingerichtet, in dem wichtige Akteure und kleinere Start-ups ihre innovativen Produkte aus der Welt der In-Destination-Services präsentieren, darunter Bookingkit, Klook, Regiondo, Fareharbor, ATTA, Evaneos und Giant Monkey.

Ebenfalls neu ist das Virtual Reality Lab in Halle 10.2. Von Mittwoch bis Freitag finden Ausstellungen und Vorträge von Referenten hochkarätiger Firmen über Anwendungen und Projekte im Tourismus im Bereich Virtual Reality (VR) und Augmented Reality (AR) statt.

Ausbau MICE und Business Travel sowie Umzug ITB Berlin Kongress

Die Segmente MICE und Business Travel rücken noch enger zusammen. Unter dem gemeinsamen Dach der Halle 7.1a wechseln sich im Halbtagesrhythmus das ITB MICE Forum und das ITB Business Travel Forum am Mittwoch, 6. März und Donnerstag, 7. März 2019 ab. Fokus des ITB MICE Forums ist der Faktor Mensch. Im Mittelpunkt des ITB Business Travel Forums stehen smarte Mobilitätskonzepte der Zukunft. Einen kleinen Vorgeschmack gibt es im CityCube Foyer Ost, dort ist ein E-Auto von Tesla ausgestellt, das als Studio für den brandneuen ITB Travel Hero Podcast, der während der ITB Berlin gelauncht wird, umfunktioniert wird. Im ITB MICE Hub (Halle in 7.1a) können sich die Besucher hinter das Steuer eines Flugsimulators setzen.

Durch den Umzug in die multifunktionale Kongress- und Messearena CityCube bietet der ITB Berlin Kongress nicht nur mehr Raum für die Veranstaltungen, sondern auch eine bessere Erreichbarkeit. Auf dem weltgrößten Tourismuskongress werden rund 400 prominente Vertreter aus Touristik, Politik und Wirtschaft auf insgesamt 200 Veranstaltungen brandaktuelle Themen diskutieren. Neu sind „Deep Dive-Sessions“, bei denen Besucher die Kongress-Schwerpunktthemen im kleinen Kreis vertiefen können. Zusätzlich finden weiterhin in den Hallen 7 und im Palais am Funkturm Kongress-Sessions und internationale Preisverleihungen statt.

ITB Berlin App für einen entspannten Messebesuch

Mit der ITB Berlin App lässt sich der Messebesuch effektiv vorbereiten und bequem mobil gestalten. Alle Aussteller, Hallenpläne sowie Events inklusive dem ITB Berlin Kongress sind hinterlegt und erleichtern die Orientierung. Ganz neu und unkompliziert ist das Navigationstool durch die Hallen dank Beacons. Außerdem liefert MyITB mit dem Userprofil einen perfekten Überblick über die favorisierten Aussteller und Events. Regelmäßige Updates bringen die Nutzer während der Messe immer auf den neuesten Stand. Die ITB App für iPhone, Android-Smartphone und Tablet steht kostenfrei zum Download und zum Update in Deutsch und Englisch zur Verfügung.

Die ITB Berlin 2019 findet von Mittwoch bis Sonntag, 6. bis 10. März, statt. Von Mittwoch bis Freitag ist die ITB Berlin für Fachbesucher geöffnet.
