Der Frühling ist noch Grau mit grünen Tupfern. Wer nach einem Bouquet Buntem und einer echten Gute-Laune-Rezeptur sucht, der pilgere in die Tucholskystraße nach Berlin Mitte. Hier verbreitet die diplomierte Textildesignerin Sabine Landgraf einen ganzjährigen Farbrausch. Nach fünf erfolgreichen Jahren des Urladens „Panama“ im Hamburger Stilwerk, beglückt sie seit 2002 in ihrer Werkstatt für handbedruckte Stoffe den Kiez Berlin-Mitte. Nach Berlin kam sie der Liebe wegen.
Wer hier miese-petrich vorbei läuft ist selber schuld. Denn wer bei Landgraf hereinspaziert, kommt bestgelaunt wieder heraus oder nimmt sich Zeit und verweilt in dieser frohmütigen Tankstelle der Farbigkeit und Poesie.
„Ich bin so knallvergnügt erwacht, ich klatsche meine Hüften (…). Dieses Gedicht von Ringelnatz und viele andere von Rilke, Möricke, Tucholsky und Konsorten und andere knackig-frische Gute-Laune-Botschaften prangen auf Kissen, Lampen, Kacheln, Tapeten oder Bettzierdecken. Die meisten Stoffe und Unterlagen findet Sabine Landgraf bei Hausauflösungen oder den örtlichen Flohmärkten. Hier werden sie nachhaltig wiederbelebt und bedruckt, was der Stoff hält. Antike Geschirrhandtücher, Landkarten oder Mehl- und Kaffeesäcke eignen sich dafür ganz hervorragend. Die Auswahl an Dekostoffen für die vielen Stoffkollektionen reicht von edlem Leinen über transparenten Baumwoll-Organdy und Batist bis zu feinstem Seidenorganza, changierenden Taften, Baumwollsamt, Naturfilz, Echtleder und exquisiten Seiden.
Alle Stoffe für die diversen Formate werden per Hand vor Ort im Siebdruckverfahren hergestellt. Dafür bearbeitet die blond-fröhliche Dame aus dem Norden die Motive mit dem Computer und per Belichtung auf ein Sieb. Im Siebdruckverfahren formt sich dann Farbplatte für Farbplatte zu einem Gesamtwerk. Die grossformatigen Stoffbilder schmücken jede Wand. Sabine Landgraf verkauft ihre Bilder, wie es bei Künstlern in Galerien so üblich ist pro Quadratmeter. Alle von Stoffen ummantelten Formate und Bilder sind Unikate.
Verspielte Motive wie Florales oder Buntes aus der Tier- und Fabelwelt zeichnet Landgraf mit der Hand. Das Lieblingsmotiv der Wahlberlinerin sind die „Tiller Girls am Brandenburger Tor (1926)“, die mit Sektflasche und Luftballon aus dem Admiralspalast kommen und das Leben feiern. Für Touristen sind natürlich die Berlinmotive hervorragende Mitbringsel.
Gemeinsam mit der vor Kreativität nur so sprühenden Designerin können Panama-Kunden wie bei „Wünsch Dir was“ aber auch ganz persönliche Farb- , Motiv- und Materialwünsche äußern. Eigene Gedichte und Zeichnungen, neue oder alte Fotos, Familienwappen oder persönliche Symbole dürfen mit Farben und Mustern zu eigenen Gesamtkompositionen individualisiert werden.
