Hallo an alle meine neuen Fans da draußen. Mein Name ist Otto und ich bin der Kreativ-Direktor des Innenarchitekturbüros Otto von Berlin. Habe ich bereits erwähnt, dass ich zudem den Titel als Berlins attraktivste französische Bulldogge trage? Nein? Na, jetzt wisster Bescheid. Ich habe für Euch eine kleine Geschichte vorbereitet. Eine Geschichte, wie unsere kleine Kreativwerkstatt sich über die Jahre verbessert und verändert hat. Eine Geschichte über einen slowenischen, bärtigen Innenarchitekten und seinem Hund.
Vor etwas mehr als drei Jahren hat unsere Erfolgsgeschichte angefangen. Ist echt schon lange her, wenn ich darüber nachdenke. Vor allem für meine Hundejahre. Bei der Gründung von unserem Kreativbüro war ich nämlich noch ein kleiner Welpe. Geboren in Köpenick, aufgewachsen in Neukölln. Richtiger Berliner Bursche halt. So einer wollte mein Herrchen auch werden, als er begann den Start-Up Traum wie viele andere zu realisieren. Nach diversen Jobs in verschiedenen Innenarchitektur-Büros war Gregor genervt von dem nicht-ausgeschöpften Potenzial, dass sich tief in ihm verbirgt. Er hatte Visionen, die er unbedingt realisieren wollte – nur bekam er zunächst keine Chance, sein Talent unter Beweis zu stellen. Das sollte sich alles nach einem Interview mit dem Tagesspiegel ändern.
Gregor Drobnic, auch liebevoll bärtige Hüne von mir genannt, machte sich mit seinem Konzept des Personal Furniture Shoppers schnell einen Namen in der Stadt, die er so gerne erobern wollte. Eines Nachmittags klingelte sein schwarzer Apfel. Ein Anruf der sein Leben verändern sollte. Eine Kundin ist auf unsere Kreativwerkstatt aufmerksam geworden, einen Tag später nach Veröffentlichung des Artikels im Tagesspiegel. Die Aufgabe: ein riesiges Loft am Lok-Depot zwischen Kreuzberg und Schöneberg. Das war unsere Chance zu zeigen, was für Ideen in unseren Köpfen stecken. Naja, größtenteils meine – man darf nicht vergessen, dass ich das eigentliche Genie bin. Ich habe mit meinen Pfoten nun mal Probleme beim Zeichnen, deswegen übernimmt der Hipster den Rest…
Das Projekt am Lok-Depot sollte unser Sprungbrett für die ersten großen Projekte werden. Wir fingen an verschiedene kleine Apartments zu designen, bevor wir von Privat-Projekten zur Gastronomie geschwenkt sind. Das Estate Coffee an der Wrangelstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg wurde der erste öffentliche Raum, den mein Herrchen designet hat. Danach kam der Stein erst so richtig ins rollen. Es folgten weitere Cafés, Restaurants, ein paar Messestände und große Büroflächen, bevor wir einen kleinen Abstecher in die Welt der Mode getätigt haben. Ein gut gekleideter Mann mit sehr bekannten Initialen wollte ein paar neue Boutiquen eröffnen. Da kann Otto von Berlin schlecht wiederstehen, wenn KL neue Läden braucht.
Das Jahr 2016 verflog für uns wie im Fluge. So viele neue Projekte kamen rein, dass wir endlich groß genug waren, unser Team um ein paar neue Mitglieder zu erweitern. Was uns für die Zukunft erwartet, wissen wir nicht – wir erwarten nur voller Freude sämtliche Herausforderungen die uns das Leben bereitstellt.
