Schnell begreift Gundel, weshalb dieser mysteriöse Ort auf keiner Karte verzeichnet ist. Seltsame Dinge geschehen hier. Nicht nur, dass sie sich alle auf wundersame Weise wieder jünger fühlen, auch sorgsam gehütete Geheimnisse drängen ans Tageslicht. Gundel spürt, dass diese Reise sie verändern wird. Und das liegt nicht an ihrem Tölpel von Exmann, der sie zurückgewinnen will, sondern eindeutig an dem geheimnisvollen Fremden, der ein Auge auf sie geworfen hat und vor dem alle sie warnen.
