Mühelos attraktiv sein wie Freia, das ist die Devise! Sonst wird’s zu viel. Und zu viel ist Frieda eh schon: zu laut, zu groß, zu viel Make-up. Immer und überall. Ob sich am Ende trotzdem body positivity und ein lebenslauftaugliches Praktikum finden lassen?

Franka Frei, 1995 in Köln geboren und im österreichischen Salzburg aufgewachsen, wurde quasi aus Versehen zur Expertin auf einem Gebiet, das sie seitdem nicht mehr loslässt. Seit ihrem Bachelor-Abschluss im Fach Angewandte Medien und dem plötzlichen Viralgehen in den sozialen Medien ist sie Menstruationsaktivistin – ein Vollzeitjob, der selbst bei Partys im hippen Berlin Fragezeichen in die Gesichter zeichnet. Wenn sie nicht gerade in der Gender Studies-Vorlesung sitzt, wird Franka nicht müde zu erklären »was man damit später mal anfangen will« (die Revolution, natürlich), hält Vorträge im In- und Ausland und arbeitet als Journalistin für die Deutsche Welle. Artikel und Interviews mit ihr erschienen unter anderem in der Huffington Post, Zeit Campus, im Deutschlandfunk, WDR und in Vice. Im März 2020 erschien ihr Sachbuch »Periode ist politisch« bei Heyne Hardcore.
