Kurz bevor das große diesjährige Themenjahr von Kulturland Brandenburg rund um den 200.Geburtstag des großen Dichters und Denkers Theodor Fontanes „fontane.200/Spuren“ am 30.Dezember (Fontanes Geburtstag) zu Ende gehen wird, wurde die Arbeit des Teams des „Kulturland Brandenburg“ durch einen besonderen Preis gewürdigt. Bei der Kulturmarken-Gala »Night of the Brands« des 14. Europäischen Kulturmarken-Awards auf dem UNESCO-Welterbe Zollverein in Essen wurde Kulturland Brandenburg vor 650 geladenen Gästen als »Europäische Kulturtourismusregion 2019« ausgezeichnet.

Entscheidend für die Auszeichnung war die Berücksichtigung von nachhaltig wirkenden ökonomischen, ökologischen und sozialen Kriterien bei der Entwicklung seiner Kulturprojekte. Die Jury überzeugte Kulturland Brandenburg als starke Region mit klaren Zielsetzungen. Themenkampagnen, kulturgeprägtes Markenmanagement und eine erfolgreiche Integration von Kulturanbietern sowie der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft waren weitere Kriterien.
Das prämierte Projekt: »fontane.200« des Kulturland Brandenburg
Das Werk Theodor Fontanes ist untrennbar mit der brandenburgischen Landschaft, ihrer Geschichte und Kultur sowie mit der Mentalität ihrer Bewohner verbunden. In den unterschiedlichsten Regionen suchte der Dichter und Schriftsteller nach Spuren und hinterließ Spuren. Aus dieser Perspektive Unter dem Motto „Die kulturelle Vielfalt entdecken“ würdigte Brandenburg vom 30. März bis zu Fontanes Geburtstag am 30. Dezember 2019 den großen Autor mit dem Kulturjahr fontane.200/Spuren und lud Bescher*innen der Region dazu ein, das kulturelle Erbe und die kulturelle Vielfalt in den verschiedenen Regionen Brandenburgs zu entdecken. In Kooperation mit zahlreichen Programmpartnern und einem breitgefächerten Veranstaltungsprogramm. Sechs zentrale Programmsäulen mit mehr als 450 Veranstaltungen luden im ganzen Land Brandenburg Besucher*innen ein, Fontanes Werk und seine Arbeitsweise neu zu entdecken. Rund 40 Partnerprojekte hatte das Kulturland Brandenburg im Rahmen des Fontanejahrs gefördert und koordiniert. Diese präsentieren und präsentieren noch weiterhin Ausstellungen, Konzerte, Lesungen, Theater, Tanz, Film und zeitgenössische Kunst sowie kulturtouristische Angebote im gesamten Bundesland. Im Fokus der Aktivitäten stehen Fontanes lokale Quellen und Netzwerke, die für seine Arbeit unabdingbar waren sowie die Spuren, die er bis heute hinterlassen hat.

Das Themenjahr fontane.200/Spuren – Kulturland Brandenburg 2019 reihte sich als zentraler Baustein in die Landeskampagne fontane.200 ein. Dies ist ein Projekt der Brandenburgischen Gesellschaft für Kultur und Geschichte gGmbH und der Universität Potsdam und wird gefördert mit Mitteln des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur des Landes Brandenburg. Weitere inhaltliche Kooperationspartner des Fontanejahrs waren das Theodor-Fontane-Archiv, die Fontanestadt Neuruppin, die Universität Göttingen und die Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin.

Ausgezeichnet wurden beim 14. Europäischen Kulturmarken-Award unter anderem trendsetzende Kulturanbieter, nachhaltige Investitionen in Kulturprojekte, innovative Bildungsprogramme, Stadtkultur und Kulturtourismusregionen sowie die engagiertesten Kulturmanagerinnen und Kulturmanager aus Europa. Initiator des Europäischen Kulturmarken-Awards ist die Causales – Gesellschaft für Kulturmarketing und Kultursponsoring mbH.

Der Preis für die Dachmarke Kulturland Brandenburg bestätigt uns einmal mehr auf diesem Weg. Kulturland ist zudem ein wunderbares Gemeinschaftsprojekt: Zahlreiche Kulturakteure im Land beteiligen sich jedes Jahr an den Themenjahren – von Museen, Theatern und Kunsthäusern bis hin zur Arbeitsgemeinschaft Städte mit historischen Stadtkernen oder dem Netzwerk Industriekultur.“

Kulturland Brandenburg bringt den Brandenburgerinnen und Brandenburgern sowie seinen Gästen das kulturelle Erbe und die kulturelle Vielfalt des Landes näher. Im Fokus der Themenjahre stehen historische, zeitgeschichtliche und aktuelle Aspekte, die unter Einbeziehung von spannenden Persönlichkeiten, authentischen Orten und zentralen Ereignissen erzählt werden. Kulturland Brandenburg ist ein Netzwerk der kulturellen Netzwerke, in dem sich die Akteure im Land nachhaltig fachlich, regional sowie thematisch verbinden. Weitere zentrale Aufgaben sind das übergreifende Marketing für die Themenjahre sowie die Unterstützung der Akteure vor Ort bei der Umsetzung ihrer Projekte.

Luther und die Reformation in Brandenburg«, 2016 »handwerk zwischen gestern & übermorgen«, »KOMMT ZUR VERNUNFT! Friedrich der Zweite von Preuszen« im Jahr 2012 sowie »Mut und Anmut.
