Jeden Sommer verwandelt sich Berlin für zehn Tage in eine Hochburg der Poesie. Über 150 Dichter und Künstler aus aller Welt kommen zum Poesiefestival Berlin und präsentieren aktuelle Tendenzen zeitgenössischer Dichtkunst.

Poesie wird erlebbar

Neben dem Buch hat sich die Poesie längst auch andere Präsentationsformen gesucht und experimentiert munter mit Theater, Performance, Musik, Tanz, Film und digitalen Medien. Das Festival macht Poesie erlebbar, in ihrer ganzen Formenvielfalt. Das Poesiefestival zeigt, welche Kraft und Inspirationsquelle die Poesie besitzt. Es verschafft der Sprachkunst Aufmerksamkeit, beschreitet neue Wege der Präsentation, Publikation und Distribution und erreicht weltweite Ausstrahlung. Hier treffen sich auch Direktoren von Poesiefestivals aus aller Welt. Das Festival Berlin findet seit 2000 statt und wird vom Hauptstadtkulturfonds unterstützt.

Motto 2018: «Werte Vers Kunst»

Das Haus für Poesie lädt unter dem Motto «Werte Vers Kunst» zum 19. Posiefestival internationale Dichterinnen und Dichter ein, Werte durch Verskunst zu befragen und ihre Poesie auf die Bühne zu bringen. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf der konkreten, visuellen und Sound-Poesie.
