Die 48 Stunden Neukölln, das vielfältige Kunst- und Kulturfestival, finden 2018 bereits zum 20. Mal statt.
Mit ihrem dezentralen, unkuratierten und für professionelle Künstler wie Quereinsteiger offenen Festival- Konzept sind die 48 Stunden Neukölln seit 1999 Vorreiter eines basisdemokratischen Kulturverständnisses, das aktuell oft beschworen und viel diskutiert wird.
Dabei verfügt das Festival im Vergleich mit anderen großen Kunst-Events in Berlin über ein eher bescheidenes Budget. Ganz besonders lebt das Festival deshalb von Engagement und Eigeninitiative der beteiligten Akteure, die ihre Veranstaltungen zumeist ohne finanzielle Förderung – und zumeist auch ohne substanzielle zusätzliche Einnahmen – realisieren.
Das junge Kunstfestival widmet sich der „Neuen Echtheit“
Das Festival innerhalb von „48 Stunden Neukölln“ widmet sich mit einem eigenen Programm speziell der Kreativität von Kindern und Jugendlichen. Dabei erforschen diese mit künstlerischen Mitteln ihre eigenen Lebensbedingungen und entwickelten zielgruppengerechte Kunstpräsentationen. 2018 beteiligen sich rund 2.000 Künstlerinnen und Künstler an etwa 250 Orten unter dem Motto „Neue Echtheit“ an dem Festival.
