Das Bauhaus-Archiv zeigt letztmalig im Bestandgebäude Höhepunkte der Sammlung Bauhaus. Den bevorstehenden Auszug nimmt es zum Anlass, das Thema Bewegung in seinen vielfältigen Facetten als Leitfaden durch die Präsentation zu legen.
In Arbeiten aus dem Vorkurs – beispielsweise Bewegungsstudien – aber auch aus allen Werkstätten – Architektur, Möbel, Keramik, Metall, Malerei und Grafik u.a. – wird dem Thema nachgespürt. Fotografien bezeugen die notwendigen Bewegungen der Bauhäusler, die sie – bedingt nicht zuletzt durch die Umzüge des Bauhauses selbst von Weimar nach Dessau und Berlin – bis hin zum Exil auf sich nehmen mussten. Vertreten sind weltberühmte Bauhaus-Lehrer – Walter Gropius, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Oskar Schlemmer, László Moholy-Nagy – wie auch zahlreiche Schüler.
