Das Theatertreffen der Berliner Festspiele ist das bedeutendste deutsche Theaterfestival und versammelt im Mai Theaterschaffende, Journalisten und Gäste aus der ganzen Welt in Berlin.

Ein Festival für Theaterfreunde

2017 präsentiert das Festival bereits zum 54. Mal alle Sprachformen des Theaters vom Tanz über Puppenspiel, Musiktheater und theatrale Installationen. Hierbei finden sowohl ein Theatertreffen-Camp und Abend-Veranstaltungen als auch Gastspiele und Lesungen des Stückemarktes statt.

Herzstück des Theatertreffens sind die zehn bemerkenswertesten Inszenierungen, die alljährlich von einer unabhängigen Kritikerjury aus rund 400 Aufführungen der Saison ausgewählt werden.

  • «Five Easy Pieces» von Milo Rau unter der Regie von Milo Rau (Produktion des International Institute of Political Murder und Campo Gent)
  • «Pfusch» von Herbert Fritsch unter der Regie von Herbert Fritsch (Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin)
  • «Real Magic» von Forced Entertainment unter der Regie von Forced Entertainment (Pact Zollverein in Essen, Hau Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin und weitere)
  • «Traurige Zauberer» von Thom Luz unter der Regie von Thom Luz (Staatstheater Mainz)

Rahmenprogramm

Ein reiches Rahmenprogramm ergänzt die Leistungsschau des deutschsprachigen Theaters: Diskussionen mit namhaften Gästen aus Kultur, Politik und Wirtschaft stellen Bezüge zwischen Theater und aktuellen gesellschaftspolitischen Themen her und Preisverleihungen, Publikumsgespräche, Premierenpartys und Konzerte locken die Theaterfans ins Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

Tickets und Vorverkauf

Der offizielle Spielplan zum Theatertreffen erscheint am 13. April. Der Ticket-Vorverkauf beginnt am 22. April 2017 um 10 Uhr.

Der Kulturverführer Berlin schreibt:

“Als eine Leistungsschau des deutschsprachigen Theaters versteht sich das 1963 gegründete Theatertreffen Berlin. Eine Jury wählt aus 400 Inszenierungen die bemerkenswertesten zehn aus, die sie für die “bemerkenswertesten“ der Spielzeit hält, und lädt die Macher in die Hauptstadt. Das renommierte Festivalschiff stand sehr lange für das Regietheater eines Peter Zadek (der absolute Spitzenreiter der Einladungen), gefolgt von Peter Stein und Claus Peymann. Mittlerweile trägt das Festival auch neuen Formen, ästhetisch und inhaltlich, Rechnung. Und auch in internationaler Vernetzung entstandene Arbeiten der Freien Szene wirden präsentiert. So spiegelt das Theatertreffen tatsächlich “Spannweite und Stilpluralität aktueller Theaterarbeit“.”
