Vom 02. Februar bis 05. März findet die transmediale statt. Einst ein Videofilmfest, entwickelte sie sich zu einem weltweit bedeutungsvollen Festival für Kunst und digitale Kultur. Die transmediale ist Festival und ganzjähriges Projekt in Berlin zugleich. Sie lanciert neue Verflechtungen zwischen Kultur, Kunst und Technologie. Ein kritisches Verständnis der zeitgenössischen, von Medientechnologien geprägten Kultur und Politik zu vermitteln, ist ein Anliegen der Aktivitäten der transmediale. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung finden noch bis zum 05. März 2017 in ganz Berlin Events statt, darunter unter anderem Galerien sowie unabhängige Projekträume. Das Haus der Kulturen der Welt zeigt zudem die Sonderausstellung alien matter.
