Sie wanderte über den gefrorenen Baikalsee, suchte den Schnee am Kilimandscharo, überquerte auf Schneeschuhen eine Hochebene in Schweden, reiste nach Norwegen, in die Arktis und die Alpen und versuchte zu ergründen, was das ist: Winter.

Das Eis ist von matter, grau-weißer Farbe. Darin eingepackt liegen wie verankert strahlend weiße Eisberge. Von der tiefstehenden Sonne beschienen, werfen sie lange Schatten auf das Eis. Am liebsten würde ich alle Passagiere aufwecken, alle Blenden nach oben schieben und laut rufen: „Seht euch das an! Gibt es Schöneres auf der Welt als den Winter?“
