Die Dauerausstellung „Manufakturelle Schmuckproduktion – Mensch, Maschine, Meisterstück“ zeigt sich ab dem 15. September in neuem Glanz. Drei Monate ruhten die Maschinen und die Ausstellung wurde umfassend didaktisch und gestalterisch überarbeitet.

Sie präsentiert sich nun verstärkt als ein lebendiger Ort der Wissensvermittlung zum Thema serielle Schmuckherstellung. Die Besucherinnen und Besucher begleiten ein Medaillon auf seinem Weg durch sechs Kabinette und erfahren, welche Maschinen und Werkzeuge für die Herstellung eines solchen Kleinods benötigt werden und
welche unterschiedlichen Arbeits- und Produktionsabschnitte es bis zur Fertigstellung durchläuft.

Das vom Museum ins Leben gerufene Projekt “Manufakturelle Schmuckgestaltung” wurde 2015 von der Deutschen UNESCO-Kommission in das Register guter Praxisbeispiele zur Bewahrung immateriellen Kulturerbes aufgenommen.
