Die Ausstellung „Robby Müller – Master of Light“ richtet den Blick auf einen der wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Kameramänner des internationalen Kinos. In seinen Arbeiten scheinen Einflüsse von Edward Hopper auf, sein Einsatz des Lichts erinnert an Gemälde Veermers. Der niederländische Kameramann Robby Müller ist zweifellos ein Virtuose seines Fachs.

In der Ausstellung vermitteln großflächige Projektionen ausgewählter Filmszenen einen Eindruck vom visuellen Scharfsinn und der Vielschichtigkeit seiner Werke. Regisseure wie Wim Wenders, Lars von Trier und Jim Jarmusch berichten in Interviews von Müllers herausragenden Fähigkeiten als Kameramann. Einblicke in sein Privatarchiv bereichern die Ausstellung auf ungewöhnliche Weise – Dokumente und Skripte, vor allem aber Dutzende Filmaufnahmen beschreiben sein Leben am Set wie ein Tagebuch.
