BIKINI BERLIN PRÄSENTIERT ORIGAMI-INSTALLATION DER FRANZÖSISCHEN STREETART-KÜNSTLERIN MADEMOISELLE MAURICE

 

Die in Marseille lebende Streetart-Künstlerin Mademoiselle Maurice präsentiert vom 23. März bis 30. April 2017 eine farbenprächtige Installation in der BIKINI BERLIN Concept Shopping Mall auf 140 Quadratmetern Gesamtfläche. Ihre Installation „When the sky meets the earth!“ besteht  aus zwei Komponenten – einer Decken- sowie einer mehrteiligen Bodeninstallation. Die Installation zeigt insgesamt 5.700 bunte Origamis, die an 140 Seilen und 4.000 Woodsticks angebracht sind. Dabei trifft der Betrachter auf eine Welt, in der die Elemente regelrecht auf den Kopf gestellt werden. Während die Deckeninstallation vorwiegend aus zahllosen fliegenden Kuben in den Farben eines Regenbogens besteht, befinden sich Origami-Vögel am Boden und formen einen großen, bunten Vogelschwarm. Durch die farbliche Anordnung wird eine Verbindung zwischen den beiden Komponenten der Installation hergestellt. Gemeinsam bilden sie einen großen Farbverlauf, durch den die Besucher flanieren können. Am Rand der Deckeninstallation sind fünf weiße, von der Künstlerin signierte, Origami-Vögel integriert.

Besonderes Highlight ist, dass die Besucher der Concept Shopping Mall Teil des Kunstwerkes werden können, indem sie mithilfe eines kurzen Anleitungsvideos eigene Origami-Vögel falten, diese in die Bodeninstallation integrieren und so dazu beitragen, dass diese kontinuierlich wächst. Die Falttechnik des besonderen Origami-Vogels wurde von Mademoiselle Maurice persönlich entwickelt.
