Am 21. Dezember 1935 starb der Schriftsteller und Satiriker Kurt Tucholsky in Göteborg, in seinem Exil. Die Nationalsozialisten hatten 1933 seine Werke verbrannt und ihn aus Deutschland ausgebürgert.
Aus Verzweiflung über die Entwicklung seines Heimatlandes nahm Tucholsky sich das Leben.
Zu seinem 70. Todestag ist im Dezember 2006 dieser Abend entstanden, der mit großer Heiterkeit und ebenso tiefer Wehmut an den großen deutschen Dichter erinnert.
