Die Ausstellung erinnert an den Kreuzberger Stadtarzt Dr. Curt Bejach (1890–1944) und das von ihm 1925 mitgegründete „Gesundheitshaus am Urban“, das während des Zweiten Weltkrieges durch Bomben zerstört wurde. Es war das erste kommunale Zentrum für präventive Medizin und Gesundheitserziehung in Berlin. Heute steht dort das bezirkliche Gesundheitsamt. 1933 wurde Bejach von den Nazis entlassen, im Januar 1944 nach Theresienstadt und von dort nach Auschwitz deportiert, wo er im Herbst 1944 ermordet wurde. Im Rahmen der Ausstellungseröffnung findet die diesjährige Gedenkveranstaltung des Bezirksamtes und der Bezirksverordnetenversammlung anlässlich der Novemberpogrome von 1938 statt. Im Mittelpunkt der Ansprachen steht die Verfolgungsgeschichte jüdischer Ärzte.
