Wettbewerb für junge Tänzer
Der Tanzolymp ist ein Wettbewerb für junge Tänzer im Alter von 10 bis 21 Jahren und findet jährlich in Berlin unter dem Motto «Tanz als Weltsprache» statt. Für 2017 werden über 1000 junge Tänzerinnen und Tänzer aus aller Welt in Berlin erwartet.
Preise und Tanzkategorien
Zu den Preisen des internationalen Kindertanzfestivals zählen neben Stipendien, unter anderem für die Ballett-Akademie München, auch Verträge, Geldpreise, sowie Pressepreise. Das Festival gilt inzwischen unter Künstlern und Fachleuten international als „Börse“ für junge Talente. Hier treffen Intendanten auf Tänzer, Tänzer auf Förderer, Ausbildungsstipendien werden vergeben, Kontakte geschmiedet und zukünftige Karrieren entstehen. Es gibt sechs verschiedene Tanzkategorien: Klassischer Tanz/Neoklassischer Tanz, Moderner Tanz/Zeitgenössischer Tanz, Charaktertanz/Folklore, Jazz, Pop und Stepptanz.
Abschlussgala im Admiralspalast
Höhepunkt des Festivals ist ein Galaabend, bei dem die besten Solisten, Duette und Gruppen des Wettbewerbs ihr Können öffentlich vorstellen. Dieser findet am 19. Februar im Berliner Admiralspalast statt.
