Das C/O Berlin zeigt ab 16. September 2017 die Ausstellung «Willi Ruge. Fotoaktuell».
Willi Ruge war Fotograf, Werbefilmer, Abenteurer und Kriegsberichterstatter. Unter dem Firmennamen «Presse Verlag Photoaktuell» machte er sich Anfang der 1910er-Jahre selbstständig und belieferte den wachsenden Zeitungs- und Illustriertenmarkt. Er reiste nach Amerika, Afrika und Asien, begeisterte sich für Sport, Luft- und Rennfahrt, fotografierte sich in waghalsigen Aktionen und dokumentierte den ersten und zweiten Weltkrieg.
Um die 140 Fotografien zeigt die Ausstellung
Das C/O Berlin zeigt mit der Ausstellung «Willi Ruge. Fotoaktuell» nun um die 140 Vintage Fotografien aus dem Gesamtwerk des berühmten Fotografen. Dabei mussten die Fotografien im aufwendigen Prozess in Verlagsarchiven erarbeitet werden, da Ruges gesamtes Bildarchiv 1943 bei einem Bombenangriff zerstört wurde.
